Recode are a local four-piece featuring Steph Heath (lead vocals), James Creighton (bass), Luke Coare (guitar and backing vocals) and Dan Creighton (drums), will be performing at the showcase on Friday, 3rd December.

Recode are group of long-standing friends who decided to form a band in 2008.

After a few months of writing together, they got there first acoustic gig in Frome before performing their first electric gig at BoxRocks 2009.

They are heavily influenced by bands such as Paramore, You Me At Six, Garbage, Blondie and Muse.

"We are constantly told that we sound like Paramore because of the genre and style of our music, and also because we have a female frontwoman and the rest are men, as well as our stage performance."

Steph writes the lyrics to each song and the band then works together to create the song. Their songs cover a range of different subject matters including problems in relationships, hopes and dreams, utilitarianism, spontaneity, mutual love, animosity, feminism, courage and consequences. Check out their excellent video for the brilliant track 'Just to say'

Their anticipated EP is due out soon and their brilliant tracks can be heard on their myspace page:

"Live, we are a very lively band on stage and we are constantly told that we provide a great energy for the audience
– which can only be a good thing."
