Raffle Starts Fundraising
Events at Midsomer Norton's Mardons Social Club have raised more than £5,000 for Dorothy House over recent years, and this year's first cabaret has raised £230 in a prize raffle.
Members are negotiating with Alcan, owners of the old Mardon factory, to keep the club.
Raffle prizes were donated by Somer Valet, Barons, Argos, Tesco, Out Of Asia, Reflections, Headlines, James Christopher, Pierre, Paul Bond, Serenity, The Works Health Club, Performance Sports, Positive living Centre, Bluebells, Norton Sports and Camping, Midsummer Tanning Salon, Cabellos, Channel 5 and Island Clothing.
A print of Radstock's Five Arches, by artist Roger Jones, was auctioned for £100.
