Successful Cabaret Supports Local Charity

This years' first Cabaret Night at Mardons Social Club was a huge success, tickets sold well which meant that the night's charity raffle was very well supported raising £230.

It's well worth noting the variety of businesses that donated generous prizes to the raffle : Somer Valet, Barons, Argos, Tesco, Out Of Asia, Reflections, Headlines, James Christopher, Pierre, Paul Bond, Serenity, The Works Health Club, Performance Sports, Positive living Centre, Bluebells, Norton Sports and Camping, Midsummer Tanning Salon, Cabellos, Channel 5 and Island Clothing. The fact that so many businesses were willing to support the raffle is testament to the great work done by the local Dorothy House charity at Winsley.

The auction of a stunning print of the 'Five Arches' at Radstock, that was kindly donated by local artist Roger Jones, raised a further £100 for the worthy cause.

Mardons Social Club is proud to announce that over the past few years over £5000 has been raised by its members for Dorothy House, which is just one of the charities supported by the club. Mardons Club, which faces potential closure at the end of June, are in negotiations with Alcan to enable their club to remain open and continue fundraising well into the future.
