BLACKJAKK & MASQUERADE

On 3rd September the club will be rocked by a young local band and their special guest.

Blackjakk are four lads from Norton Hill School, who will turn up the volume and set the music pounding. The say they've got a keen interest to saturate the mundane mainstream music of today with Hard-Hitting, Energized Rock 'N Roll.

It's likely to be a lively night with these enthusiastic and talented guys.

Luis says, 'My stage name ‘Masquerade’ takes heavy influences from different genres. The overriding style is a mix of drum and bass, breakbeat, electro and reggae. So obviously influences come from artists such as, The Prodigy, Shy FX, Chase n Status and Fat Freddy’s Drop among many others. After being trained in jazz and classical piano from the age of 6 as well as learning the drums from the age of 8, I have been in touch with music for a number of years and began moving towards Dance music in my early teens and writing music at roughly the same time. Many songs I write feature improvised jazz solos on synthesisers or keyboards, and having the ability to play piano aids me in exploring music on a deeper level.'

This is something new to the club so come along and check it out. It's free, so it's a great opportunity to see some excellent new talent.
