Fundraising 'Curry Night'

The Curry Night held on March 17th, and organised by local girls Bryony & Vikki was a huge success. A massive £840 was raised allowing the sponsorship os six children to the Silver Bells School, Bhavnagar in the Northern state of Gujarat, India. The girls also flew out to to teach drama at the school for 6 weeks.

The meals supplied by local restaurant Bombay King were enjoyed by around 100 people. More supported the night by going along to see the excellent local group Centrefolds. Vikki's father, Ray also sold a number of handmade wooden goods, including bird boxes and bread boards which raised more than £100. Mallards of Midsomer Norton were generous enough to donate £125 to the sponsorship fund.

Vikki said: " We would like to thank everyone who helped in any way to make it such a special night. We are very grateful to Mallards and the Mardons Social club, who could not have been more helpful. We were aiming for £250 to take to India to support the school, but the final total far exceeded our expectations."

Centrefolds performance on the night was outstanding. Performing a few acoustic covers before launching into their own material, the set was extremely impressive and gave a taste of what is to come from their impressive new album.

The girls are keeping records of their trip and you can follow the girls adventures on their blog:
