Showcase Night

It was a lovely warm night on Friday, 21st May, when Dr B came to perform at the Social Club.

Showcases were initially created to bring in more diverse music to the club. We have to say we've been successful, in that without them, it's unlikely that we would have been lucky enough to encounter the full on blues music as performed by Dr B.

The band were engaging and an excellent introduction to all that is good about blues. Delivering gritty and moody covers of some of the greats of the genre. Their strong vocals and heavy rhythms combine well to present edgy and emotional musical storytelling.

Dr B obviously love this music - and listening to them it shows. Overall the band performed as a tight unit, though never sounding over-rehearsed. Their experience of playing in other bands before coming together is obviously invaluable.
